Changes
It's been awhile since I've updated the site, but I wanted to publish some material about our past year and post about the changes in Duquesne IAJE.
This was a really successful year for the organization. We managed to start jam sessions, a listening session, raised funds and almost doubled our membership. Wednesday we elected four very solid candidates for the new executive board. Their goals for next year will include increased concert attendance and fundraising as well as continuation of listening and jam sessions. The officers are:
President: Abby Gross
Vice President: Devin DiMauro
Secretary: Mark Jackovic
Treasurer: Mark Semancik
On a much less positive note we must also address the bankruptcy of the IAJE organization that was announced today (Check iaje.org for info). Rumblings of new organizations and regional events for next year have already begun, however our chapter must make some decisions about the future. In Wednesday's meeting we discused a Duquesne University Jazz Society or something similar that would include a trip and still be as active (if not more) within the Duquesne community. Decisions about this will be made by the members of Duquesne IAJE, the new executive board and our advisor, Mike Tomaro, in the coming months.
I want to thank everybody for an outstanding year and I have very high hopes for the continued success of this organization.

Jam Session
Thanks to everybody who came out and played last night. Special thanks to Ryan, Dave and Mike for holding down the rhythm section. We're going to try and get this going on a regular basis next semester.
